BotCon 2012 Shattered Glass Heroic Decepticon Soundwave Unveiled; Headband Sold Separately
Peter Van - Tuesday, January 03, 2012

The reveal of the BotCon 2012 convention exclusive set continues! Fun Publications has just revealed the Shattered Glass Heroic Decepticon Soundwave figure.

As expected, the figure uses the Transformers Reveal the Shield Ironhide mold with a brand-new head.

The character was first teased in a teaser poster for the convention.

The all-white vehicle mode gives way to spots of blue in the top of the head, forearms, and the feet.

The vehicle also sports Zartan's face on the driver and passenger side doors (see right).

Fun Publications also notes that they worked with the sculptor to ensure that the head issues have been fixed.

For those who were intrigued by the headband in the aforementioned poster, a headband will be available, but will be sold separately at the club store at an undetermined time and for an unknown price.

Fun Publications explains that the price of molding the piece onto the actual figure would have been too costly.

For all of the news on the BotCon 2012 exclusive figures, head over to our checklist.

BotCon 2012 takes place in Fort Worth, Texas from April 26 - 29, 2012.

Armada Sideswipe had a great vehicle mode!

Welp, I was expecting a homage to AM Treadshot and instead we get TFU Treadshot in AEC Sideswipes colors. I suppose it works as he's SG and the mold was a redeco SS... It's just a little odd. Nice looking toy either way.

Nah the last Armada Sideswipe I had I tossed in the trash, It wasn't even worth the $3 I paid for it on clearance back then. And never bothered to replace it, although I was tempted to smash it and send it to Hasbro demanding my money back for making such a POS of a toy

Not bad, but not what I would expect from a SG Treadshot. Part of the fun of the Shateredverse is familiar characters in colors that wouldn't normally be associated with their faction. Even in proper colors I couldn't tell you this was Treadshot. What this is is Generations Armada Sideswi... read more

Just saw pictures of [url=" (link) he actually looks decent. Probably the most decent out of all of them

The Tracks so far is the only one I kind of like, simply because it can double for another established character, I doubt we'll see all 3 Junkions at Botcon, there's a rumor that they can't use the head for Scrapheap, I would like to see them though in the Black Purple and Yellow Insecti... read more

Generations Warpath for Treadshot and also as Gutcruncher as the freebie or add on. I betcha.

I think the Voyager Megatron mold would make a better Treadshot than Megatron himself.

They probably can't use the WFC Soundwave mold because I imagine we'll get a redeco of the same mold when Fall of Cybertron hits shelves this year. If there is a plan for that. Which I hope there is, but not for repaints. Allthough Hasbro could have just gave a blanketed "No" as ju... read more

The second voice actor that TFNation is proud to present for 2018 hails from the land of the early 2000s, and the series that some will argue is called Car Robots, when we all really know it as Robots in Disguise (2001) - please join us in welcoming the man behind Megatron, leader of the Predacons: Daniel Riordan!
Yet another Hasbro Fan media event is behind us at Toy Fair. From this we have lots of photos of current and upcoming toys to obsess over, as we do every year. But that's simply the obvious, most easily visible takeaway from the presentation. But we learn more than that, so it's time to look back over the day and sort out the larger scope of information we've been given from what is arguably our biggest single day of reveals for the whole year. Keep reading!
The smallest gallery to share is that for the standard Masterpiece line. The newest entrant shown is the MP-17+ Prowl featuring animation-inspired deco and which it seems is due to get a same-month release by Hasbro going by indications from some of the US retailers. Also out at the show were Shadow Panther, with a copy of Cheetor out as a point of comparison. And rounding out the upcoming product was Dinobot, making most things around it look small. It seems that several other items were included in the display, but in the form of exclusives and other long-since released products to represent the line. You can check out the photos of the newer products below.
Wonderfest managed to diverge a bit from Toy Fair's presentation this year in the movie product on hand. While the Studio Series line was on full display matching Hasbro's reveal, a few of this year's Movie The Best products were out in the exhibit space too - though it's probably not too unfair to say some of them were rightly outclassed by their brand new Studio counterparts. We also get to see a little bit of Move Masterpiece among these toys, resulting in the movie offerings for this year being nicely represented. Click through to check them out!
Wonderfest is happening in Japan right now. The one day event falls just hours after the first day of Toy fair in New York, and on the Transformers side, and consistent with our earlier speculation much the same lineup of products were on display, albeit with subtle differences. Unfortunately in Power of The Primes those differences are limited to the state of finish of the various items shown, rather than things like actual deco choices. For instance, grey prototypes of Optimal Optimus and Predaking versus color versions. Click through to see these and more!
