Could Leonard Nimoy Voice The Fallen?

Continuing the string of possible pleasing of the fans, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen screenwriter Roberto Orci has put up the possibility that Leonard Nimoy may return to the Transformers Universe and lend his voice to The Fallen.

"I actually talked to [Mr. Nimoy] about it, [and] given the odd coincidence that he is [Director] Michael Bay’s cousin through marriage," Mr. Orci writes on the official website of producer Don Murphy.

However, don't get your hopes up too high yet. "Fan outcry has also put [Frank] Welker in the running."

This is an interesting development, as Mr. Bay has previously said that he'll pursue Mr. Welker for the voice of Soundwave, but not The Fallen.

Could this signal that Mr. Welker will be voicing two voices for Revenge? Or is Mr. Orci simply covering his own hide so we don't chew it if Mr. Nimoy doesn't get the job?
