The Daily Prime goes down to the metal with a look at the 2006 Transformers Titanium series Robot Master Wave 4 Optimus Prime (left) and the Wave 3 Autobot Warship Ark figures (right). The 3-inch figures made mostly of die-cast were produced by Galoob, best known for their Micro Machines toys, that Hasbro acquired in 1998.
The Optimus Prime was modeled on Hasbro's 20th Anniversary MasterPiece Optimus Prime from 2003. However, that is a different ARK than most of us know. Seems the designers decided to update the original G1 design by pairing the detachable ARK with a massive combination they called the "Autobot Warship Ark". It turns out the added design was used from another Hasbro acquisition, Milton Bradley's "Electronic StarBird".
This is the first time I've ever seen this version of The Ark. The designer straight-up ripped off Milton Bradley's Starbird toy for it.
