First Looks at Transformers Dark of the Moon Deluxe Dreads, Ferrari Figures!
bwbm - Friday, January 07, 2011

Thanks to DOTM Toys and a Yahoo! Japan auction from nihaohuwen, we have our first looks the deluxe figure versions of the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Dread and the still unnamed Ferrari 458 Italia.

First the one where we have the most images, the Dreads, a trio of government off-road outfitted Chevrolet Suburban SUVs, are part of the MechTech, sporting giant pincers and a giant gun.

The nihaohuwen auction shows a black-painted figure while DOTM Toys shows off a gray prototype.

We also know why they're named "Dreads," since the head of the robot will sport dreads, similar to what we saw for Frenzy in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Next up, the Ferrari. We get a medium shot of the gray prototype figure's robot mode as well as a shot of the vehicle from the top.

The vehicle is incomplete in this shot, showing off only the hull. However, we can see where the separations of the vehicle and slightly the transformation process.

To see the images, visit DOTM Toys and Yahoo! Japan.

Since I am not the only one to be feeling this theory; I'm REALLY tempted to get out the old Soap-Box, but I think I'll wait 'til we have some more concrete information. Generally where there's smoke there's fire, but if there isn't, why call the fire brigade? This is Bayfo... read more

glad you found the video, thanks! I'm thinking it's the same toy, just multiple copies. And I'm glad to see a deluxe class of the NASCAR, after seeing the Legends (assumed?) painted version earlier, it'll be nice to see a better version. The Dread shown here is definately not t... read more

^ (link) I'm hoping The Dreads aren't just a group of clones. I was really hoping to see 3 exact same SUVs, but with different transformations and different looking bots. So hopefully the image I was looking at is just several copies of that one toy. The site is down, so I'm stuck w... read more

My first thought on seeing the Dreads in bot mode was Insecticons too! And surprisingly, I can actually see this being the case based off existing knowledge. Obviously the first clue is their bot appearance. Secondly ... 3 Insecticons, Bombshell, Kickback, and Shrapnel. During filming of a freew... read more

I still like them. I agree the toys are mistransformed and Bay might make them into shameful racial stereotypes but I don't care about the crappy movie as I already know it will suck. Really, what are the odds that Bay will actually make a GOOD Transformers movie with this third film? I would wa... read more

Is it just me or are those pincher things REALLY LAME. It makes them look like oversized scarab beetles that some how became part car... (link)

TakaraTomy has posted a pair of new YouTube videos for their upcoming release of the Studio Series Wave 1 figures, as well as for their Turbo Change assortments! Most notable are the stop motion transformations for the StudioSeries figures, and a better look at the chart TakaraTomy used to show off the relative scale between the releases. Keep reading to see!
Via various reports at 2005, we now know that the Studio Series Deluxe and Voyager class figures are showing up a bit early! With a street date of 4/20, Washington State Fred Meyer Stores and Kansas Dillons stores are putting the figures out well over a month ahead of time... but given the markup at both locations, you'll be paying for the privilege if you can find them. Keep reading for photographic proof!
Metals Diecast has posted some new images of their MetalFigs 4" Transformers: The Last Knight figures to Facebook! These SD-style Optimus Prime and Bumblebee figures are both due to hit retail next month and, as the name would suggest, are made of diecast metal. That's got to be a pretty weighty set of figures! Keep reading to see images.
Yenting Lai of Facebook group TFND has posted an extensive gallery of images showing off Studio Series Voyager Starscream! The figure - which is due in both Transformers(2007) & Revenge of the Fallan color schemes in different waves - has a lot of articulation and looks very good in both modes. Keep reading to take a look with the gallery we've mirrored here, for convenience.
Studio Series is the topic of the evening, and in our last (for now) update on that front, we have stock images for Studio Series Thundercracker from usual suspect Weibo source tf-factory. Thundercracker is exclusive to Toys R Us in the US and is a redeco and minor retool of The Last Knight Voyager Nitro, featuring a new head. This leak gives us clearer looks at the vehicle and robot photos, plus a sample of the character art for the packaging. So far as we've heard, there's still just the one sighting of the toy in the wild so far. Click through to see the photos.
