Hot off the Internet tubes, we have received the answers to our questions submitted to Hasbro for Episode VII!
TFormers.com: As late as SDCC 2009, Hasbro has stated that they are going to get all of the unreleased Transformers Animated figures on the shelves no matter what, but don't know the exactly when. Now that it's a little farther off and we've been given a ballpark dates for Arcee and Cybertron Ratchet (Spring 2010), do you have any other ballpark dates for the other figures and exclusivity deals that you can divulge?
Hasbro: At this point in time, we will continue to say that we will do our best to get all of the unreleased figures out there, but it is still a bit too early to start talking past Spring 2010. Once we have solidified our plans, we will certainly let you all know where and when these will be sold.
The new Hasbro and Discovery Network joint venture is shaping up quite well with the recent appointments. During the announcement of the network, Brian Goldner said that there will "most likely" be a new series based off of Transformers in 2010. Is there any new information regarding this new series such as the the direction, style, or release date?
Hasbro is looking forward to delivering entertaining new content to kids and fans through our joint venture with Discovery Communications. We’re excited to share news with you when we have more specifics to share but it is still very early in the process to discuss what direction the entertainment will take. New programming will be based on a number of brands, one being TRANSFORMERS. The yet-to-be-named network is expected to premiere in Fall 2010. Stay tuned for future announcements.
Is there a chance that the Tomy Takara reissues such as Metroplex, Seacons, or the cassettes will make be released in the US by Hasbro?
As with all of our classic re-releases, we want to make sure that we find the right opportunity to re-release them. While each of these items probably deserves to be re-released at some point in time, we do not have any plans to release Metroplex, the Seacons or the cassettes alone at this point in time.
