Masterpiece Sideswipe Knockoff Now In Production - Beware!

It has been discovered that MP Sideswipe is the latest to become victim of counterfeit toy producers. Sporting packaging and toy appearance very, very close to that of the original, this toy almost certainly lacks any of the quality of the genuine article. As you can see from the images, the differences are very, very subtle. The knockoff figure has a slightly lighter shade of red plastic than the original, but the clearest way to distinguish one from the other is to look for black panel lining around the headlights, which the knockoff lacks. The differences in packaging are much less apparent. All of the branding and layout are duplicated as closely as possible to make these easier to pass off as the real thing. However, the toy photos on the knockoff packaging have darker shadowed areas, such as if the contrast on the photos had been increased. The burst effect also appears slightly smaller on the knockoff packaging as a result of the same photo retouching. Unfortunately it almost requires a side by side comparison to be able to identify the packaging differences, making verifying a real MP Sideswipe very difficult for an online purchase.
