New Info On Universe Classics 2.0 Wave 1 Figures

We have just picked up some detailed news about wave 1 of Transformers: Universe Classics 2.0. The information may be found in issue 19 of the Transformers Collectors' Club Magazine, hitting mailboxes now. Click through for all of the information.

All of the following figures are part of the first wave of Universe Classics 2.0 and are slated for a Fall 2008 season release. The image next to each figure is the gray prototype mold that Hasbro gave a sneak peek of earlier this week.

Sunstreaker
First, let's talk the guy who some non-club members saw and others who didn't: deluxe class Sunstreaker. Like explained when he was initially unveiled, Sunstreaker's vehicle mode is a yellow Lamborghini. The vehicle pays tribute to the character's Generation One Countach model with some modern upgrades here and there, including the front end of the car.

Commentary that comes attached to this figure: "If there ever was an Autobot car that would want the Classics treatment it would be Sunstreaker! The sleek and style conscious bot has a new look and a new paint job to boot!

Powerglide
This ultra figure is probably the most changed of the bunch. It's almost as if the red and gray colors have swapped with one another in terms of domination on this figure.

Commentary: Powerglide goes from one of the smaller planes in the Autobot ranks to one of the largest. Not a bad upgrade at all for the "former" little guy!

Onslaught
Next, let us talk ultra class Onslaught. If you want to know what the figure looks colored, look no further than an article TFormers reported back in December. Issue 19's cover features the cover of the figure.

However, from what we have been told, the actual figure does not seem to be as bright of a blue, but a rather darker shade. The red lights and windows and the gold accents remain intact.

The commentary that comes attached to this figure: "In a word, Wow! Who needs combiner friends with a look like this?"

Prowl
Next up, deluxe Prowl. Prowl remains quite true to the Generation 1 counterpart, with virtually the same parts that were black and white on that version are reflected here. The lights are clear, though. The figure's vehicle mode looks like a modified version of a Infiniti G37 with a hood that is pushed in rather than flush.

Commentary: The law is back! Not one to let a certain Decepticon give the lights and sirens a bad name, Prowl returns to bring order back to the Universe!

Tankor
Octane returns with a new name: Tankor, which comes from the Beast Machines era Vehicon general.

Also pretty true to the color scheme of the Generation 1 counterpart with some minor modifications, the triple changer looks quite large. Instead of a commercial airplane, Tankor's airplane mode now looks more like a military aircraft with propellers.

Commentary: The name may be different but the character is the same! Tankor will bring some more triple changer love to the Classics style.

Bulldung,i have Rid prime, his parts could combine into a base.

You didn't say anything about a base. You said...

Cybertron prime was worse, his super mode and vehicle mode parts didn´t even form a trailer or anything. it just sits there,i hope prime puts his name on it,cause once he runs into battle...

Notice the stuff in bold? Trailer. There's no need for his back part to become a trailer because he's a firetruck and firetrucks do not have trailers. Now as far as the lack of a base mode.

Unfortunately this was left out of the American instructions, but it was included in the Japanese instructions.

So on that note you :fail

Now, back on topic.

I like classics/universe and I want to see more of it.

I said "or anything,it just sits there"

Thanks for the pic though,i'll pose it like that from now on.

And yeah, universe is gonna rock. i heard they are gonna bring in redecoes of previous molds, just like with the older universe series. if they do any cybertron redecoes i hope the planet keys get retooled into vector sigma keys or something.

"Base mode", lol... usually when I think of a base, I think of an actual location, not just some stationary artillery thing. But I suppose it does technically have a base.

I know they´re both firetrucks, but at least RID Prime´s rear could form a base. he didn't have to throw his ass into subspace.

Both Primes were fire trucks, RiD prime had a more armoured super mode, while the Cybertron Prime did use his rear half as a gun emplacement in a couple of episodes.

Cybertron Prime reminded me of a Gundam..... Down with Megazord Prime, the only way that figure would have been cool is if it had more articulation and had a slide on helmet...

Cybertron Prime was a firetruck. They don't have trailers. This is the same type of transformation that RID Prime uses. Beyond that Prime always left his trailer sitting behind when he ran into battle

Diff'rent Strokes...

Soundwinder 2008-02-06 @ 6:41 pm

He's like a Scramble City combiner.

Only the limbs can't transform.

And the main body transformer looks like crap in vehicle mode.

And robot mode.

And has a stupid looking super robot head.

...

... I hate Energon Prime.
