New Robots Confirmed For Transformers 2!

The identities of the GM Corvette Centennial Design Concept as well as other Transformers that will be featured in the film were confirmed during the Hasbro Licensing Summit that was recently held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Corvette has been revealed as the Sideswipe while Ravage was also confirmed. Transformers Live Action Blog speculates that it may be the mysterious puppet that was spotted several months back during the Princeton, New Jersey shoot.

On top of these revelations, the summit also confirmed that Megatron will indeed return to the film franchise.

This follows hot on the heels of images of the tank mode and robot mode that "randy" showed to us earlier this month.

The summit continued with surprises, giving out what was reportedly some new action figure news. Devastator was reportedly confirmed and will be a Supreme class figure.

Italian website giocattolivecchi.com (translation) also confirms that Jetfire will be part of the toyline, effectively confirming the character will make it into the film, following the leaked call sheet and the filming of the SR-71 Blackbird at the Udvar-Hazy Museum back in June.

According to Google Translate, the website also reveals that Jetfire and Optimus Prime will combine.

It probably wouldn't have hurt if they had made the protoforms distinct looking.

It would've cost more money. And, as fun as it is to iDebate who landed where, it is a pretty minor issue in enjoying the film overall and I'd much rather have confusion in that scene than less explosions in other scenes.

That would have helped telling the different locations apart, but unless they also showed them each turning into their various alt modes, I don't think it would have resolved the confusion.

I guess stage directions would indeed help

Or, you know, effectively translating from script to screen.

Wow, I'm getting all P-C up in here.

Just pretend that Transfomers takes place in like the year 2012, there's nothing that specifically sets it in 2006/2007.

What about the President on AF1? :tflaugh

Jeb Bush?

:guh

Nope, Todd Palin.
