Hasbro hosted a press preview last night at NYCC 2012 in New York City. Tformers and ENI were covering all the news as it happens as we will be for the rest of the convention. One of the goodies passed out to us last night was the Official Transformers Holiday 2012 Gift Guide. The guide covers 5 pages of toys Hasbro has highlighted for the holidays this year with an early start. Get a look the guide mostly featuring Transformers Prime, Generations and some Bot Shots too now.
Also, did anyone notice the suggested retail price for ALL the deluxes? $11.99 :redface
Yes the MSRP is still just "Suggested" based on whatever numbers Hasbro crunches to say "this price would be profitable to you." MSRPs is one way for Hasbro to "sell" product to distributors. If the actual price the stores are charging is way above the MSRP, its because the retailer is not seeing a big enough return on profits for that product, or may be a larger portion of their products, hence the price increase.
Oh believe me, I know all about how MSRP works. The surprising part is that this was their old MSRP, but during BotCon and SDCC they had it listed as $14.99 and now it's back down? But considering the Cyberverse Commander price ... Someone needs to better proof read their publications haha.
If only Hasbro didn't try to force all the Bumblebee's on the retailers, maybe then we would have seen the actual $11.99, good thing Fry's is still $12.99
