Official Looks at Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Voyager Soundwave and Soundblaster

Hasbro has dished out official views of Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Voyager Soundwave and his repainted counterpart Soundblaster. Soundwave's design is essentially a larger version of his design from the previous Transformers War for Cybertron video game.

The new feature with this mold, though, is that instead of cassettes, each figure will come with a disc, which may be launched from the chest and transform upon impact.

Soundwave and Soundblaster can store up to three discs at a given time.

Take a look at the figures in the gallery, and see additional angles of Soundwave in our BotCon 2012 gallery.

Legion class figures will also make an appearance in the Transformers Generations line, with Rumble with Ravage and Frenzy with Ratbat being the first sets. When not in use, these figures can be stored in a case.

Who cares if its more recognizable to other people you should just buy whichever you like more. Im getting both though because I collect Soundwaves and by extension that includes his minions and Soundblaster.

I'm buying both as they are both iconic, plus both look good.

A question to whoever is buying this toy. What color are you buying? do you love the mold enough to buy both blue/soundwave & black/soundblaster color schemes?

I'll be buying the blue/soundwave colors because I consider them more iconic & more reconizable by more people.

That was actually pretty awesome. And the whole Prime losing his memory thing makes me want to start watching this series again. Thanks alot! :redface. I hate the whole Unicron in the Earth thing tho.

:win You're welcome.

Unicron is so specific to me...I like him, but yet I hate him, and I think one of the reasons why is that he is, to me, purely a cosmic character (he's clearly meant to be the TF equivalent of Galactus) and should exist in a purely cosmic setting, and the TFs will likely never commit full-time to that--and I would love a TF continuity that was purely cosmic, personally--but the closest I've seen to the TFs doing that was the wildly inconsistent S3 of G1 (never bothered with the AEC era, so I readily admit to some ignorance there).

Prime is dark without being depressing (like an Italian horror movie) and very nuanced. It also makes me want to hate Mike Bay even more than I already do (which shouldn't be possible), considering who's writing the show. I love it. I love it ALL.

I would like to see Soundwave totally trounce somebody. I don't think I've ever seen him do that before, in anything. Ever.

Youtube "One Shall Rise" part 3. Other than episode 1 of "MTMTE" when he dropped 2 or 3 Autobots when the Decepticons boarded The Ark, this is as close as you will get to seeing Soundwave go all Charles Bronson on somebody.

Airachnid did not even begin to win that fight.

Well i liked what little bit he portrayed. When he snapped the picture of the kids, how he just randomly appears behind Starscream and startles him. But thats just two things in the whole series that I thought was cool. Everything else has just been meh. Granted Ive only seen season 1 but Ive never seen him actually fight and the whole silence thing started to wear thin. I was really wanting him to contribute more then just the "Soundwave contact this guy," or "Soundwave where are they?" followed by silence and a video/audio clip.

Does he get substantially better later on? I'll probably watch more Prime but it just didn't click with me. I didn't feel like I had to see what was going to happen next. Not like Animated where I was craving the next episode.

It's kind of a tough call: if you're already unimpressed with what you've seen from TFPrime Soundwave, then I honestly--as much as I love the series--don't think the rest of the series will change your mind. I say that because he remains silent and the character is mostly about his actions or the interpretation thereof and subtleties that may not be immediately obvious. The series feels more like a lead-in, a slow progression where this character is concerned, as though we haven't seen what this Soundwave is truly all about yet, and that (IMO) makes the character seem even cooler.

I will admit that my first exposure to the series was watching various Starscream and Megatron clips...and then, the one time I saw Soundwave fight, he took on and thrashed Airachnid in part 3 of "One Shall Rise" which was Billy Jack-esque in its badassery. Since then, I have totally immersed myself in the Prime continuity.

My favorite alternate universe Soundwave is the one from Transformers Cybertron.
