Transformers: Retribution From Del Rey Books Coming January 28, 2014 Cover Image and Details
BaCon - Sunday, August 04, 2013

Amazon have posted a listing for the :Transformers: Retribution" book by David J. Williams and Mark Williams that will be published by Del Rey on January 28, 2014. The third part in the Aligned Continuity, this book takes place after the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron game and before the Transformers: Prime cartoon stories. Editor Frank Parisi described the book as all of our favorite classic Transformers characters in all-out, epic warfare on a new world and on Cybertron. Read the official book description below for more details.

For decades, Transformers fans across the globe have marveled at the mighty clashes of Megatron and Optimus Prime, and speculated about their arrival on planet Earth. Now, in Transformers: Retribution, the prequel to the Transformers animated series, the epic odyssey of these two great warriors is finally revealed as Autobots and Decepticons battle one another . . . and the most diabolic foe they’ve ever encountered.

Aboard the Ark, Optimus Prime leads his Autobots through deep space, searching for the AllSpark so vital to their home planet, Cybertron. Megatron’s not far behind, and his Decepticons are itching for war. But a mysterious planet conceals an enemy far more cunning and powerful: the Quintessons. Masters of tyranny, technology, and twisted double crosses, the Quintessons are out to enslave both Autobots and Decepticons. Their deadly bag of tricks includes time travel, fiendish trials, and a secret link all the way back to Cybertron, where Shockwave is wreaking havoc with supercomputer Vector Sigma. In the coming conflagration, Star Seekers, Wreckers, Alpha Trion, and Sharkticons all have their parts to play. For none can dodge the Quintesson juggernaut of evil, and none will escape the cataclysmic life-and-death battles that will catapult Autobots and Decepticons to Earth.

On Facebook, XM Studios has posted a new teaser render for an upcoming licensed Megatron statue they're working on. The highly stylized take on G1 Megatron has all of the recognizable elements, though done in a style that's more like movie-meets-G1. Interestingly it's also called out as being "1/10 scale". But without an indication what they're basing the "real" height on, that doesn't offer much clarity toward the size that this statue will ultimately be. We've mirrored the teaser image below, click through and take a look!
Transformers At The Moon has posted the latest in their series of deleted audio and extended scenes from the original 1984 The Transformers cartoon series! This time, they've got over ten minutes' worth of dialogue from "Heavy Metal War," featuring the first appearance of the Constructicons. Keep reading to see the video along with a transcript of the dialogue.
The closure of ToysRUs provokes a lot of emotions - sadness, frustration at the circumstances, and in some a misguided sense of satisfaction stemming from their latter-day pricing habits. But at some point in our lives a great many of us were ToysRUs Kids. And so longtime Transformers fan and ASMzine proprietor Phil Zeman has created the site I Didn't Want to Grow Up, which is accepting submissions of your stories and reminiscences of visiting what was once the premiere source of action figures for children and collectors. Few would guess the last piece to be reissued from the original Transformers Generation 1 series would be the music scores. Even though the original cartoons have been reissued, updated and restored multiple times. Fans that have been asking for copies of the Original Sound Tracks (OST) masters have finally gotten theirs, on vinyl of all things. IF, they were fast enough to buy one of the 2,000 copies that sold out in less than 10 minutes. The good news is a second pressing is in the works.
ALL GOOD THINGS…! Rodimus and the Crusadercons have reached their final destination. The trouble is, it’s not Cyberutopia. In fact, it’s not ANYWHERE. But they’d better get used to it, because they’re going to be there until the end of Time…
