Update: Added official images. It was officially official at the Hasbro Transformers Brand Panel that Toys R Us would be getting the Transformers Masterpiece Thundercracker as an exclusive figure. The announcement confirmed that the figure would be based on the MP-11 Starscream mold, which has been rather popular, and will also include a display stand for the figure. Price has not yet been announced, but do expect the figure to be out in October 2012.
heh i only paid about $60 for my Starscream at Walmart. I passed on Skywarp since I normally don't do repaints. I would've passed on TC here too, but the fixed mold has persuaded me to buy him....I will buy all 3 seekers in this mold if I can find them for cheap enough
I paid $20 for him on clearance
Apologies if anyone's already asked, but...what are the red splotches on the shoulders supposed to be?
what sure what that is on the Hasbro press photos but the one displayed at SDCC just has red swoop marks on the shoulders. In jet mode, theres a Reflector painted on there.
Ah, appreciate the info. :thumb

I was actually pleasantly surprised that this figure is the 2.0 mold and not the older one, which I was confident Hasbro would do. The only thing that I am disappointed with on this mold is that they didn't include arm communicators...for sure in Japan they will release Skywarp in the new mold and I am going to say they will release Thundercracker ther as well as the other rainmakers acid rain and ice storm (I think those are the names) being thy they already did sun storm.....I doubt the US will get SW or SS....maybe they will be SDCC exclusives for 2013 :tfevil

I got sidetracked on the mold issue, but I really like the look of this TC. The next year sure seems like a good one for Masterpiece toys, doesnt it?
next year?? i'm buying 5 this year! Importing all 3 of the Takara ones and both of the US Releases. Expensive.
That's what I meant. A second run of Skywarp with this updated mold...And maybe Coronation Starscream...cuz it's kinda gonna suck having only 2 of the 3 MP Seekers....
Skywarp is a must, if Takara does do another MP Skywarp then I hope they strip the coronation gear from the set, if one makes it stateside (doubtful, at least not anytime soon unfortunately) I won't need to worry about non-essentials with it.
I do imagine that there are a few fans that paid out the @$$ for the original G1 colored MP Starscream, and MP Skywarp that'll be mighty pissed that Thundercracker doesn't share the exact same mold, lol

damn no MSRP, oh well I will be getting him to round out the seekers.
I thought I heard it was around the $60 price point. Whatever, I'll be getting him for the same reason.
And I thought I'd be done with my MP collection...until I saw Soundwave last month. :doh
Start saving now for that import price...
