I love it. I'm just waiting for the price to go down a bit before i jump in and get one.

These companies can't and don't have to cater to everyone. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Move on. As far as Hasbro not caring about fans? What do you call the CHUG lines? Thats all fan service right there!! Do you think an 8 year old kid today cares who Tracks or Thundercracker is? I doubt it. I think we're lucky to have had Transformers toys almost consistently being released for the last 30 years. Grant it, some of that has been crap.

That is exactly what I have done -- I have moved on. I use to be a "completist" in this line - spending THOUSANDS of dollars on them (often getting 2 at a time, to display them in both bot/vehicle mode). The point is - this line is not the cheap $20 hasbro lines that all the kiddies get. It's an expensive line that is marketted towards adults and collectors. And for the most part - that market is SICK AND TIRED of this repaint.

So yes, I have moved on - but not just from the MP-10 line. I have returned over $500 in purchased MP's, skipped 2 of their repaint/rehashes and I plan on skipping all future repaints, that I would have never done before. So I hope they made a boat load of money in their decision with this and several of their past decisions - because a lot of money is generated from keeping a collector a "completist." The MP line was one of the last lines that kept me (an adult collector with money to spend) into TFers. Now, i'm pretty much done. I'll spend my money elsewhere now - thanks to MP-10 - as a complete insult after the "last prime" they released not so long ago. Now you can expect tons of Primes in the new scale. They should have started an entire new line if they wanted to do this (kinda like they did turning Binaltech into Alternity. How did that go, btw?? Sales and interest as high for that line now??? I seriously doubt it).

to me this is just another MP Rodimus....a pointless toy.....to expensive...a rehash of a toy we already have.....lame

i know not everyone agrees.. but this figure looks like the best G1 optimus prime figure ever. both modes are truly solid. they're he fits in in a hell of a lot better than mp01 does. and though i like diecast.. i would much rather have a figure that only has diecast feet rather than most of his body comprised of the stuff.

also, the truck mode looks absolutely perfect. leaps and bounds better than mp-01. and for me that's a big deal, because half of the year he spends in his alt mode.

and like mp01 he looks great with his trailer. G1 primes NEED their trailers to look complete.. otherwise they just don't have the same umph to them.

from the looks of it, this prime also looks like it'll be able to hold his weapon better than mp01 which really does a piss poor job at holding his weapon. i also like the amount of articulation in mp10's hands, not too much, not too little.

now for those bashing the prime repaints.. what's so wrong with takara trying to get the most they can out of the mold? it's not like what hasbro does with it's deluxe lines and just puts out repaint after repaint. i mean, a lot of people like nemesis prime, the "sleep mode" prime is a really cool idea.. . and other than those two and the magnus repaint.. i can't think of any others. there were different variations.. like the two hasbro versions, mp1 and mp4.

plus.. this figure opens up the possibility of getting a masterpiece magnus, which would be incredible.

mp-04 is an awesome figure, i own it and the terrible hasbro version. but mp10 blows both of them out of the water. i really can't wait to get my hands on it... if only christmas would come sooner. lol

now here is the one problem.. and this is a problem that each and every masterpiece prime has had. they each do a great job at being toon accurate... except for their waists and thighs.. i don't know why they're grey/silver, they're supposed to be white, but that seems to always be overlooked.

oh well, some people are going to love this because it's prime, or love it because it's new, or hate it because it's another prime, or because they think the other one is better, or can't afford it.

The reason people bash Takara for doing all the Prime repaints is because they are TIRED of shelling out $200+ for the same figure over and over and over all the time with different paint jobs. We want to see some new characters like Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge, Armored Ultra Magnus, etc. Unlike Hasbro who could give a sh!t less about their fans, Takara actually pays attention to the fan base. That is why Hasbro has put out 6 Bumblebee's so far in the DotM line, it is because they don't know how to leave a dead horse alone and not put out the figures we are wanting.

In short, Takara has a better business sense than Hasbro when it come to giving what the fans want.

It irritated me through all the pics...why is MP01 / MP04 has that flap that fold back and it's folded incorrectly through ALL the pics. Still think MP - 01 is the best incarnation so far to date.

Dark_Supreme_Jetfire 2011-10-04 @ 7:08 pm

How many reuses of this mold are we going to see? I say 5 at the LEAST.

This line should be called "Optimus Prime Series w/ other Occasional Characters Thrown In Time to Time to Please the Fans". That or "Beaten Dead Decaying Horse Corpse"

MikePrime 2011-10-04 @ 6:36 pm

Yes, yes, but is he adjunct!? Or was Takara-Tomy just teasing us?

jeffafa 2011-10-04 @ 6:18 pm

"MP-10 Convoy is one of greatest action figures Takara has ever created" :poop
