Full press release and hi-res image available below.

Fans, rejoice! The Transformers The Japanese Collection has been (re)set for a release date of January 10, 2012!

The online store for Shout! Factory has re-listed the gargantual 13-DVD set with the Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, and Victory series for $89.99 plus shipping and handling that includes a bonus lithograph of Headmaster leader Fortress Maximus.

While this is quite exciting news, the studio has delayed the set before.

The set was originally scheduled for a July release, back the set was delayed by production issues for "8-10 weeks" with pre-orders cancelled back in June.

The Heart strings were tug at again when an inaccurate December 2011 release date was printed in a Shout! Factory release catalog, but DVD Producer Brian Ward shot that down as well.

We have reached out to Shout! Producer Brian Ward for further comment on the new release date and we will let you know if and when we hear anything back.

Until then, finger-crossing is always recommended.

Headmaster Fortress Maximus is the bonus lithograph included in the 13 DVD set

Optimus Prime lives again, the energy of the Matrix has been released and peace reigns on Cybertron . . . but all that is about to change with the startling arrival of the newest breed of Transformers warriors

Following their victory over the DESTRONS (a/k/a DECEPTICONS) at the end of Headmasters, the CYBERTRONS (AUTOBOTS) depart Earth, leaving behind only a small group to protect the planet from any future menace. But when the powerful DESTRONS return to an unsuspecting planet, the CYBERTRONS must come out of hiding to defend their human friends once again — only this time they’ll be unable to do it on their own!

Victory is the third and final installment of this Japanese trilogy— introduces four new factions to the TRANSFORMERS universe. Each group comes equipped with its own unique power and the ability to combine to form much larger, more powerful TRANSFORMERS, making each and every battle even more epic!

Just got an e-mail from Shout Factory saying that this has shipped!

I'm hoping for individual sets. I already have these shows on VCDs with the RTM1 dubs, but it would be nice to have them on a disk that would work on any player, not just certain players.

I want these individually. I own Headmasters but haven't had the time to watch it yet. Hopefully soon.

Ive never seen any of these shows though Ive always wanted to. As much as I do, thats a steep price for me. Hopefully Ill be able to get it a cheaper price later.Same here...seen some of Headmasters, but not Masterforce or Victory...but I've waited this long, so I can wait a little longer for a lower price.

Victory wasn't too bad. I have that one with those horrible dubs. I wonder if Shout Factory censored it at all

Eh, I think I'll pass. Headmasters was ok. Masterforce I really don't have too much intrest in, and Victory I've never seen.. so yeah, I'll pass.... :/I want these - IMO the Japanese series are the best of G1, especially Masterforce. But Shout Factory would get my money a lot sooner if they offered the series individually.

I hope they're going to release Masterforce and Victory as individual sets! I checked the site and didn't see listings. I already own the Headmasters set, and I can't afford $90 for all three series right now, not while I have Christmas presents to buy!
