Transformers The Last Knight First Day Box Office Numbers Are In

We've got the reports in on the ticket sales for the first full day of showings for The Last Knight - and the news is not particularly good. Including the early Tuesday night showings, it seems that the fifth Transformers movie has had the lowest opening day out of the entire series so far. As a result, the previous predictions of a $70 million result by the end of the first weekend is now trending downward further to a projected $65 million, according to Variety and Deadline. Keep reading to see how this first day stacks up against the openings of the first four movies!

Its opening-day number is also below that of any other movie in the modern franchise. The 2007 original grossed $36.6 million when it opened on a Tuesday. 2009’s “Revenge of the Fallen” earned $62 million on a Wednesday, and 2011’s “Dark of the Moon” — also launched on a Wednesday — brought in $37.7 million. “Age of Extinction,” the most recent installment before “Last Knight” opened on a Friday to $41.9 million.
