Topic of the Week: Generation 2 Darkwing Megatron Kitbash Makes Better A Megatron

I used the head of hero Megatron on G2 Dreadwing, and it fit perfectly! They have the same plug and screw system to attach the head... like they were meant for each other. The idea came to me from the IDW comics, that use a Megatron mold that transforms into a flying wing kind of plane. I remembered reading that Hasbro wanted to repaint Dreadwing into Megatron at the end of the G2 line and never did. The rest is history... Check out the images for more details.

However, in late-1995 Hasbro had planned to release this mold as Megatron with Starscream as the smaller figure. The colors were later adopted by Takara when they released the Starscream and BB set in 1998. A small handful of the ATB (Advance Tactical Bomber) Megatron and Starscream were produced before the Generation 2 line was cancelled, whether they made it to store shelves is still unproven - TFU.INFO
