Transformers 2 NEST Hummer, Prime Spotted In AZ
bwbm - Friday, September 05, 2008

Thanks to "Natrix," we have some photos of a NEST Hummer that he spotted at a hotel in Arizona. The truck was in-transit to an unknown location on a flatbed truck. The truck was carrying the NEST Hummer from "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and the Optimus Prime vehicle mode.

This is the same vehicle we spotted from the rear that we accidentally identified as a GMC Canyon or Chevrolet Colorado, due to the similarities in taillights.

The vehicle is actually a 2009 Hummer H3T (official website), which is basically a Hummer H3 SUT with a five-foot truck-bed rather than the little teensy one that the SUT runs around with. The vehicle sports the same color and design as the HX concept spotted on the set.

"Natrix" sent us a report of how he spotted the vehicle. Line breaks are mine for easier reading:

I'm staying at a hotel in Arizona and this trucker was checking in at the same time as me. I overheard him talking about having something in the back that he did not want a lot of people to know about.

After he went up to his room I went to the back of the building to check out what he was talking about. Turns out he had the semi used for Optimus Prime on the back of his truck, in addition to a new vehicle. Looks like a humvee with the word Nest stenciled on the side. I took the pictures with my Blackberry as I don't have my camera with me.

Went to dinner and came back, noticed he covered up the Humvee ^^

The images that "Natrix" sent to us may be seen below.

OR ... it could be Ultra Magnus like Cybertronnews (old name yeah but me likes it and remembers) said.

It could just be a coincidence that it's a same/similar model. Then again, it might be a backup truck for shooting Prime scenes, but they just didn't want to put a fancy shiny paint job on it until it had arrived and had any travel-wear repaired first. Or maybe the licensing deal showcasin... read more

That would be the truck pulling the trailer, the one the trucker was driving........ Unless they are using a movie vehicle to pull other movie vehicles (makes sense actually lol)

If you see the full pic (not just the NEST Hummer) it also shows Optimus next to the Hummer but you also see a truck similar to Prime but white and what seems to be a blue front. But you have to look closely. Could that be Ultra Magnus? You never know.

Were Prime's smokestacks removed for safety reasons? Ahem. The NEST Hummer looks pretty sweet.

Via various reports at 2005, we now know that the Studio Series Deluxe and Voyager class figures are showing up a bit early! With a street date of 4/20, Washington State Fred Meyer Stores and Kansas Dillons stores are putting the figures out well over a month ahead of time... but given the markup at both locations, you'll be paying for the privilege if you can find them. Metals Diecast has posted some new images of their MetalFigs 4" Transformers: The Last Knight figures to Facebook! Yenting Lai of Facebook group TFND has posted an extensive gallery of images showing off Studio Series Voyager Starscream! The figure - which is due in both Transformers(2007) & Revenge of the Fallan color schemes in different waves - has a lot of articulation and looks very good in both modes. Keep reading to take a look with the gallery we've mirrored here, for convenience.
Studio Series is the topic of the evening, and in our last (for now) update on that front, we have stock images for Studio Series Thundercracker from usual suspect Weibo source tf-factory. Thundercracker is exclusive to Toys R Us in the US and is a redeco and minor retool of The Last Knight Voyager Nitro, featuring a new head. This leak gives us clearer looks at the vehicle and robot photos, plus a sample of the character art for the packaging. So far as we've heard, there's still just the one sighting of the toy in the wild so far. Click through to see the photos.
