Jagex has announced that due to unexpectedly high server loads, they will be extending the open beta and holding another Double XP Weekend this week. In addition, the cash-prize contests for the highest skill score and the most friends recruited to the game have been extended. Click through for details and a link!
It was great to see some of the evolving strategies emerge as players came up against new bots, new team tactics and played on new maps.
In fact demand for the game was so great that we temporarily exceeded availability of our server instances in some of our data centres at peak times. As players ourselves, we understand how frustrating this is and have already resolved the issues today. To ensure that everyone can benefit from the double XP weekend and to be fair to all, we’re going to extend the competitions and offer double XP again on the weekend of 11th through to 14th July.
