What Are Your In-Hand Impressions of the Kre-O Transformers Building Sets?

I was looking at the Kre-O figures on TRU.com and was wondering if anyone else has already picked these figures up? What do you guys think? I'm wanting to get Prime and the Autobot cars. Also, why do Sideswipe and Bumblebee both come with Red Alert Kreon's? Share your comments about the Transformers Kre-O action figures after the jump.

The only one I really want is Mirage.

I've picked up the small Bumblebee & Prime and the Jazz set, but have only assembled Bee so far. A lot better than the BTR sets, even if it's the smallest set. A good representation of Bumblebee with an impressive headsculpt. Is it based on Classics `Bee or maybe WFC? Prime is obviously his Classics head - can't wait for the chance to build him.

And for those complaining that the sets don't transform, I'll just say: Omega Supreme and Godbomber. :tflaugh These guys are fun, and the small sets at least are well worth the money.

I am an avid Lego fan, as well as a fan of transformers, so this was a match made in heaven for me. I picked up optimus and megatron, and have to say, I have fallen in love with these kreo sets, Prime especially! I was honestly very impressed with the engineering that went into this building set to get the same pieces that form a very very nice looking cab into an 11ish inch tall robot that mixes movieverse and g1 in a very elegant way. The lack of transforming doesn't bother me at all. I have hundreds of those guys already. These are building toys, and are meant to be built and taken apart. My only real gripe so far is megatron. He just looks a little off. I think it may be his lack of any real imposing weapon. That shoulder cannon just isn't doing it for me, so I see a mod in my future.. anyway, I plan to pick up ratchet tomorrow. Have a good night!

i think i'm going to just pick up Prime for now since he is my favorite character. I do want Jazz and Prowl but i'll wait for now and see if i can find them on sale in the future...or get them for my birthday. My GF is already bugging me to stop buying stuff so she can buy something i want for me.

Well, I would think most of us here buy our plasti-crack because it transforms w/o having to part them out(call me silly on that..). I've had my run with lego's and still think they are very neat, however, speaking for myself, if I want parts formers or lego-formers, I'll buy them or build them. If the kids like them, so be it. I just think they are a money sink IMO.

my god.. what is with people and transforming.. jesus. whenever i put these together.. i think to myself.. wow it must've been difficult to use most of the pieces in both modes and still have them look half decent..

plus. what the hell is the point of having lego transformers.. if all you have to do is build one mode.. and that's it. these are fun because you can build one mode, then break it down and build the other. if you just want a transformer.. then get one of the main line figures.. wouldn't that make more sense..

anyways, i've picked up the megatron and the large bumblebee. they're both great. but i like bumblebee more. his robot mode looks awesome in person.

I grabbed Prime and Bumblebee for my son, cause he's a lego nut, but they're okay at best. Especially, when you see the transforming stuff people have already done with Legos:

But obviously, the big selling point are the little Kreons. =)

They look neat I will give them that, however, with the non transforming and the fact that these seem like a wasted vein for money where so many other better, Real TF's(Third party, Re-issues, ETC.) are coming, gotta say no with a vengeance. :tdown

so far i love them.. the G1 homages are what sold me on them. It really doesn't bother me that they don't transform.
