Transformers x G-Shock Master Optimus Prime Radiant Mode To See Lower Cost Release

Good news for those feeling priced out by the G-Shock collaboration Master Optimus Prime: The MantanWeb article that showed us some in hand photos has also revealed that starting on November 19, TakaraTomy Mall will be taking preorders for a less expensive release of the toy that does not include the G-Shock watch.

The first images we saw revealed a substitute piece styled like the core of the Matrix of Leadership - useful for when you want to wear your expensive Transformers watch without leaving a hole in your toy. But it looks like the real intent for that piece was to allow the Optimus to be sold on its own as a complete robot, without a watch-shaped cavity in its torso. This version is to be priced at ¥16,000, so still not a bargain by any stretch, but at a little over half the cost of the toy+watch set, this is far more approachable!
