Thanks to Rob Springer of Radio Free Cybertron and Zone Base for the heads-up on this one! Theme park news site Theme Park University has posted details on the upcoming Universal Studios Beijing, and there's an interesting detail there:
So, the Transformers area of the park itself is said to be a Titan. And as it turns out - and thanks to Rob for cluing us into this - Metrobase is an existing character! And, despite having appeared in perhaps three illustrations since being created for a Japanese prose story that was included with the early 2000s Micromaster reissues, Metrobase already has two distinct color schemes. Of course, since the Universal theme parks are based on Movie continuity, this means that the Metrobase in Beijing is technically its own distinct entity from G1 Metrobase, who like me you probably just learned even existed.
Universal Studios Beijing is scheduled to open in 2021. Hopefully we'll have more details on the park - both as an attraction and as a character - before then!
