Black Convoy, member of Transformers Colombia and admin of Transformers Peru graciously provided more information about the Peruvian version of the Oreo Transformers, how they were given away, how else they were made available- and which ones had their weapons swapped out for tasty cookies. Keep reading to see a photo of Generations Deluxe High Octane Bumblebee! UPDATED with more pics and info! UPDATE: Black Convoy has sent more info about the figures as well as more photos:
The promotion was like this: If you bought a 6-pack of AOE Oreo, they gave you the poster for free in several supermarkets. We at transformers Peru got direct contact with local Oreo marketing so we could gave 1000 posters for free to all people who went to our events. Each Oreo came with a sticker, each sticker with a code that you could send to ganaoreo.com According to the prizes lists there were Deluxes, 3 First Edition elader Class OP, and several simple Optimus and BB masks and of course free tickets for the movie. One of the students at my school won a High Octane Bumblebee. So far we knew that people won Slug and Crosshairs but, as in the case of our friend of Colombia they came with no weapons and some Oreo. The masks were also a common prize the last week previous to the the premiere of AOE. We are trying to find the winner of the Leader class OP, but we have had no luck yet. I'll try to take clear pics of the poster on Monday since it's on my classroom at my school. The front image is the one with Optimus Holding the sword of Judgement and Bumblebee, the same that it's on the Oreo Box.
The last one shows the boxes that were sold exclusively in ine supermarket. They came just with three oreo 6-packs and the silouettes of op and bb pre-cut. Not very popular since they cost more than buying the oreo packs without the box.
And maybe you will like this. As part of the promotion. For the movie local small shops got Optimus stand-displays and this awesome oreo truck was around all Lima.
Original story:
The box included 3 oreos. The box was also sold with six oreo packs only in a local supermarket.
The ganaoreo.com site serves Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic, so similar promotions may well be running in most or all of those countries. Thanks to the members of Transformers Colombia and Black Convoy of TF Peru for all the info on these specially-packed figures!
