RID 2015
US Premiere Date For Robots In Disguise And Regular Timeslot FINALLY Confirmed!
RAC - Thursday, February 12, 2015

In case you had any doubts as to why Hasbro chose to try and make their own kids' network in the first place, TV Insider reports that we finally have a premiere date and regular timeslot for Robots In Disguise: the show will premiere Saturday, March 14th at 6PM, a month or so after the rest of the world gets it, and the regular timeslot will begin the following Saturday, March 21st at 6:30AM, before you get up. This is the extent of our opinion of Cartoon Network we can share on a SFW website, but suffice to say it's in line with their normal behavior ("bad") towards properties they don't own outright. Keep reading for more details!
Just when it seemed like Saturday morning cartoons had gone the way of Cybertron, the Cartoon Network and Hasbro are giving us (and the machines) a reason to rise and shine with Transformers: Robots in Disguise. Centered on Bumblebee, the Autobot also known as a yellow muscle car, this fun new entry in the franchise inspired by Hasbro's popular line of mighty morphin' mobile changers has a more humorous vibe than previous incarnations such as Transformers: Prime or Beast Wars.

In this version, Optimus Prime puts 'Bee in charge of protecting our planet when the troublemaking Transformers on the new team—including Dinobot fave Grimlock—find their metal, err, mettle tested by a crew of Decepticons, who wreak havoc on mankind after their prison ship crashes on Earth. Among the vocal cast is Glee's Darren Criss, Entourage's Constance Zimmer, Boy Meets World's Will Friedle, and the only person who should ever voice Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen.

Check out this exclusive look at the series, which is set to debut with a primetime premiere on March 14 at 6/5c, before transforming into its regular 6:30 a.m. slot on March 21.

More RID 2015 News
From chuckdawg1999 on the forums, we have a new video showing one of the final two Crash Combiner sets from Robots in Disguise, featuring Bisk and Saberhorn. This, and the Optimus/Grimlock combiner pair seem to be the final toys for the RID line. The assortment has evidently started to be available in some capacity in the US, following a release in some of Hasbro Asia's territories a bit earlier. We have Chuck's video embedded below, so click through to take a look and see what the new combiner set is all about!
Amazon has posted listings with images for what are most likely the last two Crash Combiner sets! Primelock (a combination of Optimus Prime & Grimlock) and Saberclaw(Saberhorn & Bisk) are listed as being available in April 2018 - which is a date connected with a lot of Transformers listings of late. It's tough to say if these will ever show up at US domestic retail, but keep reading to see the images.
Robots in Disguise the TV show is over - the toyline isn't to be far behind, either - and it looks like as a closing bow, we're to be treated to some reveals of design and art assets from the development of the series. Artist Walter Gatus has posted quite a bit in his personal portfolio, featuring some early designs, and things going all the way through season 2 and the abbreviated "season 3" featuring Starscream. Fans of the show should find this an enjoyable experience to browse through, as there's lots of interesting stuff to be seen. Check it out mirrored below!
We're at the doorstep of a round of brand new toys, but before we get going on that, we have one more gallery to offer from a little farther back. Earlier this year with the Combiner Force refresh of Robots in Disguise came a new assortment of Warrior Class toys, and among them was Blurr - a crossover character from Rescue Bots! It also happens to be a really solid RID figure, if a tiny bit towards the "simple" side. We have 120 photos showing off both modes, transformation, poseability, and the accessory, and there's a race at the finish! Click through to find the complete gallery below!
Ronald McSanta has a little surprise for Transformers fans at McDonald's next month! We say "little" because there is just one Transformers item in what is a special holiday train set that features an array of popular culture properties including Toy Story, Despicable Me, My Little Pony, Hot Wheels and others. The Transformers toy offering is one from the Robots In Disguise series with Bumblebee sticking his head out a car-carrier type train car. See the image below for the full look.
