Stryker Wang, who you may recall gave us some early first looks from inside SDCC not long ago, is sharing some news from inside Summer Wonderfest. In Japan right now it's Sunday morning, which means it's the full open to the public day for Wonderfest, and the first new thing we're getting to look at in the TakaraTomy exhibit space is none other than the full assortment of Generations Selects Seacons!
All six toys, remolded from the Power of the Primes Terrorcons are present, shown both in their individual sea monster alternate modes, as well as their combined form of King Poseidon. The samples on display are all in the customary primer grey - though that'll mostly just be for effect, as these would surely be early testshots, not actual prototype pieces. While it's certainly not hard to see the Terrorcon lineage in most of the figures, Tentakil is a step above, doing a very good job of hiding what toy it started out as through a healthy dose of new parts, and probably a significant change of posture compared with the monster form of whatever it used to be. But even so, toy scholars here or elsewhere will probably have the answer sorted out soon enough.
We don't know about release plans for the Seacons yet. From their earlier initial appearance this year, we only know that the plan was to sell them individually, rather than as a Unite Warriors-style boxset. Hopefully information on that will be forthcoming soon - and hopefully like with Star Convoy, Hasbro Pulse will be getting in on the action and giving us in the US and Canada at least an extra alternative route to picking them up!
