TFG2 member "wesleylc" has posted concept art for
Bumblebee and
Scorponok during the pre-production stages of
Transformers.
The art shows that Scorponok was not all too different during the planning stages, while Bumblebee looks radically different (and rather sleeker) than what the figure turned out to be.
However, it's easy to understand why they went with the prevailing design, since the 1976 Chevrolet Camaro and 2007 concept versions needed to be recognizable when Bumblebee was in robot mode.
