Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I was told, the iGear seekers were retooled KOs of the official toys. Not much R&D needed for that.

Not true, the iGear Seekers were right around $100 a piece, which is approximately the same as it would be for a Takara release, minus the Takara add-on's

I believe you're right. I've never seen another third party toy costing as much as its official counterparts. $150 for this would definitely be worth it.

Exactly. this is, to my knowledge, the first time a 3rd party TF costs almost the exact same as its official counterparts. that alone is reason enough for me to buy it plus i love shocky lol

Let's be honest here. $150 is not bad considering MP Optimus Prime is now going for $130 on the TRU website. And to get Takara MP versions, you're paying big money as well.

The new Fans Toys FT-21 Berserk features 3 modes of transformation. It stands 24.5cm / 9.8" tall in robot mode and contains diecast metal parts. Fans of the Blitzwing character will recognize this figure as an upgraded MP style homage. The figure is listed for pre-order to ship in June 2017 at a price of $144.99 USD. With MakeToys, TakaraTomy and Ocular Max all seemingly employing a slightly different philosophy in terms of aesthetics, it would seem that we are completely spoiled for choice and that everyone’s specific preference will be catered for across the many Masterpiece-style fire truck releases. Ocular Max have incorporated what seems to be a very real-world accurate vehicle mode and tried to appease both toy and toon crowds...
Iron Factory posted to Weibo today, offering up a batch of new photos of Soul Reaper. This figure is based on the Transformers Victory character Black Shadow, albeit by way of the Generations Deluxe toy rather than the original Pretender version. But if anything, this Legends-scale figure seems to be doing everything it can to upstage its larger official counterpart, but perhaps that's easier to do when approaching a common design a few years after its release? Keep reading to take a look at the pictures.
Fresh off their Weibo page is a first look at another upcoming figure from TFC Toys in their Poseidon series. The fifth not-Seacon is Deathclaw, a take on Nautilator seen as a grey prototype piece. The figure looks well realized in both modes, and even features some little extras like an "attack mode" for the robot replacing the hands with big claws. With this, the end of the Poseidon project is actually almost in sight - only one figure to get an "official" debut before it's down to just waiting for them to go up for sale.
