First Looks at Voyager Hydrodrive Bumblebee and Golfire Grimlock

By Primus on Thursday, January 15, 2009

Just in we've got news and images giving us our first looks at Transformers Animated Voyager class Golfire Grimlock redeco and Hydrodrive Bumblebee action figures will be coming in Wave 7 this May 2009.

As reported before, Hasbro was working on a voyager class Hydrodrive Bumblebee figure. Now we know it will be coming in May of this year packed two per-case lot (50/50) with a repaint of the voyager Class Grimlock.

The Hydrodrive Bumblebee is really something else with an accessory flight / slubmarine upgrade, we'll guess is the Hydrodrive part of Bumblebee. I didn't catch it at first, but the Hydrodrive vehicle does look a lot like G1 Bumblebee's Cybertronian mode. The G1 version is on the right in image comparing them below.

Golfire Grimlock looks to be more gold and black colored, perhaps made after a Generation 1 motif or some pending event in the show?

You can order both of these action figures now at BigBadToyStore.com.

NOTE: These images are preview images that have been enhanced by Hasbro to show what the product may look like. The final product is likely to vary from the images shown.

Although I've made a vow to stand clear of purchasing repaints in the Animated line...I must admit, these are neat. Grimlock is neat to look at, but I would never repurchase the mold. Hydrodrive BB is actually almost tempting! I really like the new add-on armor. Aw, hell...maybe I'll hav... read more

bumblebee isnt bad, just that it would be a bit big coming in V class.... they should really make another grimlock in leader class. or at least the other 2 dinobots in V class.....

BB is ok I guess. Goldfire Grimlock is more repaint garbage. End Transmission

me thinks they should upsize more figures *cough*voyagersentinelprime/snarl*cough*leaderlugnut/grimlock*cough* than just bumblebee...dont get me wrong, i mean that color scheme on grimlock is savvy but what will i do with a(nother) puny grimlock?

I like the BB as well. Doesn't have that hood to chest cheat. Will have a space on my shelf...
