I'm totally fine with stuff like this if it was done for a good reason. I'm less thrilled about the unpainted turbine nips, but that's easy enough to fix.
Except, do you paint them silver to be turbine nips, or black because they're his wheels?
:jslaugh
I don't think they were going for that at all -- they just wanted to make the jet mode look cleaner. Geez...I did say 'IF'
And cool, the jet mode looks clean....but it makes the bot mode look a bit unfinished IMO.
but oh well

Yeah I knew better, I was just playing Devil's advocate for Hasbro.

G1 SS's side-vent head-thingies were also unpainted, FWIW
Ah
:tmyk
HOWEVER
If that's what they are going for, they should complete the look by leaving the front of said vents unpainted.

Hmm...not a big fan of the head being white/light gray plastic with black paint...because I can see that there is white/gray plastic on the sides of his head - very knockoff-ish
meh
It's a horrible flaw from the henkei release too.
It's either we see black in jet mode, or white in bot mode.
In that case, I'd rather see black than poorly applied paint apps.
How is it a flaw to paint the sides of his head so you don't see black bits on the nosecone in jet mode? Picky, picky.
I like the concept, but the paint just seems to be really poorly applied here - there's no smoothness to the lines on the side of his head, and it ends up flattening out the face too much.
I know, it's picky. However, since I like the Classics deco more, this makes it that much easier for me not to buy.
Mine doesn't have skidmarks. RUBBING ALCOHOL'D
Dear Hasbro,STARSCREAM IS GREY NOT WHITE
STARSCREAMS BLUE IS A LIGHT BLUE
jesus, i sometimes feel like hasbro has color blind people working for them. just do a search on google, or watch an episode of G1, it's not that difficult.
I really like the way this one is painted. As it's been said, one version (toy) was grey and dark blue, the other (show) was white and light blue. So Hasbro picked a little from column A and a little from column B to come up with a paint job that's both G1 faithful and eye-catching.
Since no one's pointed this out already (to my knowledge), they basically gave him the exact same color scheme as Masterpiece SS (the non-green one). Carry on.
Only without skid marks, which instantly makes the paint job on this one better.
